Tips For our 2012 Bible reading plan.

Tips for our 2012 Bible reading:

How many times have you picked up the bible and thought where do I start?… and end up reading at some random place in the middle of  Obadiah or Ezekiel and instantly feel like youve just walked into the cinema half way through  Mission impossible and  have no clue to whats going on.

When we come to reading the bible it is helpful to understand what is this book we call the “word of God” and what its all about?
Check this short explanation of what the bible is:

As we read the bible we need to realise God inspired men to write this down for mine and your benefit, this means as we read the bible we can be sure that God wants to communicate to us through it revealing himself, right there as we read, he is speaking…….are we listening?

To help as we begin reading the bible this year here is a helpful way to approach it: think – W. O. R. D:

  •  W onder - Ask questions- Who wrote the particular book? (Moses, Daniel, Job) When? Where? Why?
  • O bserve – Now read, observe the text get into the story or message.
  • R eflect – we usually do this while we read automatically but also once you have read, take time to reflect on the specific principles, lessons, teaching that you felt applied to you and then pray over them to God.
  • D o it – After reading, praying and applying it to yourself, ask the holy spirit to help you apply it to your life.

Hi, I’m married to Ruby and live in NW London. I completed 1 year of IBIOL and have worked for KT for over 2 years now. Christ has changed me in such a personal way and now I have a passion to see the lost reached, the church on fire, and a generation in London and the world of Holy Spirit led, Spirit-filled, Bible-loving, uncompromising believers who will not bow to the influences of the world but rather BE an influence. With one Christ, one church and one direction, we are all in this together – so unity is key.
