Meet the team

Andreas Granlund - Youth Pastor and Primary Leader
I'm 28 years old and I am part of the Pastoral Team at Kensington Temple. The first time the Lord clearly spoke to me was when I was 8 years old. He said: "You can't be a Christian just because your parents are; you need to make a personal commitment." At 16 I decided to spend a year at Bible school and that gave me a lot to think about. After that I joined the Norwegian army where I served as a squadron leader in the H.M. King's Guards. I then went on to study theology and God called my wife, Grethe and I to spend a year in London at IBIOL, under the ministry of Colin Dye. I soon became the Senior Minister's assistant, which was a tremendous experience for me! We then moved back to Norway to pastor a church, and I was the full-time pastor there for 3 years.
Years ago, when Grethe and I were part of the primary youth team in KT, God gave me very specific word that had a great impact on me. I read my Bible one day and it was as if the wind of God blew the pages in my Bible to Isaiah 60:22 which reads: "A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time." (NKJV) This verse has remained with Grethe and I, even in Norway (it was written above my desk in the church office). However, I always knew, in a special way, that it belonged to another season of my life – this season!
We as believers should be "seasonable" rather than "reasonable". Sometimes we can reason all we want, but it does not bring about the purposes of God. We cannot figure out God's ways and timing by our human logic and reasoning. God has his own time, the perfect time - the right season. We need to be aware of what season the Holy Spirit has put us in, and what He wants us to do.

Grethe Granlund - Youth Leader and Primary Leader
Together with Andreas I head up the Youth Ministry in KT. I love the verse in Isaiah 60, 1: "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you." I want to shine in and to the world and invite others to shine as well! I'm so grateful for the life I've had so far, for how God's goodness and mercy has followed me through my entire life, and I'm very excited about what lies ahead, both for my life and especially for the KTYM family (No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" 1.Cor. 2:9!!)! I have a heart for the creative, and I'm involved in singing and other creative aspects in the church. I work full time in the KT youth department, but will also soon graduate as a translator from the University in Oslo.

Phil Gregory - Youth Leader and Primary member
I've been around KTYM since 2000 when I was a Student at the University of Westminster. After graduating with a degree in Biotechnology I spent a couple of years working in Retail Management before joining the Youth Team full time at KT. I want to see KTYM explode so that Young People across London see that Jesus is real and the only person worth living for.

Elijah John - Primary member
I believe that the time is now, to be the people who can turn around the fate of the youth and young people of London and even the world. I believe that music and the arts are key things that will do that. Most of all I know one thing; you can do nothing without faith. So something that I say in church a lot is "Let's Change The World". ELIJAH OUT

Sylvia McLean - Primary member
In June 1997 I was invited to Kensington Temple where I gave my life to Jesus. Not long afterwards I was introduced to the Youth Service (known as Godzone at the time) where I have grown up and fallen more in love with the Youth Ministry and I've been involved in ministry ever since! I have been a part of the Dance Ministry, headed up the Friday Night Cafe and have been a youth leader both in KT, College and University. I desire to see young women arise and fulfil their destiny in Christ and the motto for my team is "out of weakness comes strength" its born out of the belief that God can still use weak people to accomplish great things because of His enabling power! My interests centre around the Creative Arts, Law and Politics and I am currently working in the legal profession after finishing a 4 year degree at Durham and Law Course at BPP.
