The Cause
In today's society, the power of the media, music and film industry influences the youth with false realities and worldly beliefs that say "God is a delusion" and "live how you want". Reading the morning paper or catching the TV news, we see story after story reporting gang violence between youths from opposing area codes or schools, involving knife attacks and shootings, there is a rise in underage sex, drug and drink abuse amongst teens. The pressure of the perfect figure felt by young girls from the media is pushing many into eating disorders and even suicide "Is there not a Cause"
"Who will be a voice, an example and body of truth?"
In the Bible David, a man who knew his God, was fearless in the face of the giant Goliath and asked the question, "Is there not a Cause?" he said. His enthusiasm and faith that God had his back regardless of his age made David a true warrior of the Kingdom -relentless and effective - Youth with a Cause!
David understood the urgency of the cause and stood up against the giant Goliath in order that the children of Israel wouldn't have to live under slavery, so we must do the same. We must understand the issues at stake for this generation and the next. We must not be paralysed by fear and intimidation but - knowing that God is with us - stand up against the giants of this generation and show them how to live in the freedom Christ brought for us. We must take His good news into our schools, colleges, universities and work places, and confront the darkness that tries to enslave those around us with the light of his Truth.
It's time for us to understand that slavery is not God's plan for our generation, to know our God and to be willing to act to bring freedom. So join us for "The Cause".
We are all about youth being a voice and example in the city, equipping and inspiring young disciples for Christ, through relevant, practical and interactive messages and worship. The Cause is raising a generation of believers who will influence their work places, schools, colleges, families and friends, by their radical life styles.
The Cause provides an open, relaxed, free environment where young believers can be themselves and discover so much more of who Christ has called them to be and make a difference.
